It might not feel that way in Maine just yet but there are many signs that the warmer weather is on its way! Namely — the crew is here and getting the Taber ready to sail for her 152nd season! Once again, we are sanding, painting and varnishing the boat so that she looks tip top. Crew members Will and Thea — shown below with Captain Noah — are already hard at work. Rounding out the crew are Chef Jason, returning for a victory tour and our son Oscar, reprising his role as Chief Morale Officer for most of the summer.

Introducing Chef Jason Matheson
|

|
Originally from Connecticut, Jason Matheson attended cooking school in Charleston, SC and has 23 years of food experience under his belt, despite his svelte physique. Most recently, he has done some spectacular relief-work on the Taber as well as cooking on other windjammers in our fleet and well-known local hot spots such as Long Grain and the Belfast Co-op. As Jason puts it, "I love to nurture people and the best way I know how to do that is to cook for them — food is medicine.” Jason is also a kind and funny human and we are so excited to have him on the Taber this season.
